Every brand sells the same five door styles under different names. Pick the look you are after and we will tell you which ranges do it well — then quote you to fit whichever one you buy.
Classic shaker
The one most people mean when they say “kitchen”
A five-piece door with a recessed centre panel. It has been the default British kitchen for a reason — it suits a Victorian terrace and a new-build equally, and it does not date. Painted, it takes any colour you like.
Suits: Almost any house. The safe choice, in the good sense.

Slim shaker
Shaker with a narrower frame — the current look
The same door with the frame cut down, usually to around 45–70mm. It reads considerably lighter than classic shaker, which is why it works so well in a small galley kitchen where a wide frame makes everything feel heavier.
Suits: Narrow rooms, terraces, and anyone who finds classic shaker fussy.

In-frame
The traditional, properly made end
The door sits inside the cabinet frame rather than on the front of it, so you see a frame around every door. It is the most joinery-like of the styles and the most expensive to build, because everything has to be dead square — there is nowhere for a wonky wall to hide.
Suits: Period property, and anyone who wants it to look made rather than bought.

Slab / flat
A flat door, in gloss or matt
No frame, no detail — just a flat front. It is the cheapest style to buy and the quickest to fit, and in a modern room it looks deliberate rather than plain. Gloss bounces light around a dark kitchen; matt hides fingerprints considerably better.
Suits: New-builds, flats, and open-plan rooms where the kitchen should recede.

Handleless
Nothing to catch a hip or a tea towel on
Either a true handleless rail routed into the carcass, or a J-pull lip moulded into the door. Both give a clean front. Worth knowing before you commit: a true handleless rail costs more and needs the units set out very accurately, and a J-pull is the cheaper way to most of the same effect.
Suits: Minimal kitchens, and busy family rooms where handles get caught.

Range names are checked on each retailer’s own site and are given so you can point at one. The photographs are ours and show the style, not a particular range — none of these brands is connected to us.

We fit other people’s kitchens and bathrooms as readily as our own. Here is how a job works with each of them, and where you can and cannot buy direct.
Howdens
Supply or fitKitchens, rigid pre-assembled units, worktops and joinery
Howdens is trade-only, so you cannot buy from them directly — it goes on our account. Pick the range you want from their brochure and we quote it supply-and-fit as one price. Their main factory is in Runcorn, which is inside our Warrington patch, so lead times tend to be short.
Howdens is not connected to us. Their products are their own — we are the crew that installs them.
Wren Kitchens
Fit onlyKitchens, sold direct with their own design service
Wren sell and install their own kitchens and do not supply fitters, so this one is fit-only. Have your design done with them, order it in your own name, and we quote the labour to install it. People usually come to us because the fitting quote came back higher than they expected.

Magnet
Supply or fitKitchens, retail and trade
Magnet sell to the public and run a trade side. Either works: order it yourself and we fit it, or we price the equivalent through our account and quote you one all-in figure. We will tell you honestly which one comes out cheaper for your kitchen.

Wickes
Supply or fitKitchens and bathrooms, retail and trade
Wickes run frequent offers on kitchens and bathroom suites, and their sale prices are often below what we could buy the equivalent for. When that happens we will say so and simply quote the fitting.

Topps Tiles
Supply or fitWall and floor tiles, adhesives, trims and tiling sundries
Choose your tiles in store or online and we will fit them. Two things worth knowing before you order: buy about 10% over for cuts and breakages, and keep the batch reference — a top-up from a different batch can be a visibly different shade.

Bought somewhere else entirely? That is fine — pick “somewhere else” on the quote form and tell us what it is.
What a fitting price covers
Not included
The product itself, its delivery, and anything missing or damaged in your order. Structural work, moving drainage or gas, and a rewire are all surveyed and priced separately — the same as on any of our jobs.
Fitting what you’ve bought — your questions
Do I have to buy the kitchen from you?
No. That is the whole point of this page. Buy it wherever you like — we quote the labour to install it. If you would rather we handled the buying too, we can do that for most retailers and will tell you honestly which way works out cheaper.
What if something is missing or damaged when it arrives?
On a fit-only job the order is yours, so a shortage or a damaged door is between you and the retailer. We will tell you the moment we spot it, help you identify exactly what to reorder, and reschedule — but we cannot hold a completion date against a delivery we did not control. That is the one real trade-off of buying it yourself.
Will you tell me if I have ordered the wrong thing?
Yes, and preferably before you order. Send us the design and we will check it for the things that catch people out — a unit that will not open past a wall, a worktop run that needs a joint you have not allowed for, an extractor with nowhere to vent. Free, and it costs us nothing to save you a return.
Is fitting cheaper than the retailer’s own installation?
Usually, and it's the reason this page exists. There's no showroom, no sales commission and no head office in our labour price, because we haven't got any of those. What we won't do is come in low and then find extras — what we sign is what you pay.
